SSTTA wins big pay day in Invitational championships

St Vincent and the Grenadines’ Sean Stanley table Tennis Academy (SSTTA) pocketed the US$5000 winner takes it all, when the My Smart Toilet Seat Invitational Club Championships ended last Saturday, November 4, at the NDP Headquarters at Murray’s Road.

Represented by Barbadian duo of Trevor Farley and Mark Dowell, along with the Trinidadians – Franklyn Seeran and Aleena Edwards, the Sean Stanley Table Tennis Academy beat Caribbean Unity Sports of Barbados, 3-0 in Saturday’s final.

Seeran and Trevor Farley beat Kevin Farley and Angela Reid 11-5, 11-7, 12-10. Dowell saw off Jaheim Farley, 11-5, 11-2, 17-15, and Trevor Farley outlasted Angela Reid, 10-12, 11-3, 11-7,11-6.

In the semi-finals, Sean Stanley Table Tennis Academy defeated the Elite Sports Academy from Trinidad and Tobago, 3-0, while the Caribbean Unity Sports ousted JD’s Academy of St Vincent and the Grenadines, 3-2.

Other local clubs, the Romano Spencer Table Tennis Club that featured three teams and Adams Table Tennis Club were also part of the historic event.

The championships which ran from October 30 to November 4, could see higher prize monies when the next edition is staged.

This was a promise made by local Managing Director of My Smart Toilet Seat- Curtis Bascombe.
