Big names trump in TBPO Softball Cricket

Simple Boys, Gomea Bombers, East Kingstown, Country Meet Town Out Ah Trouble and Young Stallions were all winners when the National Lotteries Authority TBPO 20/20 Softball Cricket Competition hosted another round of matches last weekend, October 7 and 8 at the Dauphine Playing Field.

Simple Boys defeated Fairbaine United by 66 runs in a match reduced to 17 overs. Simple Boys -149 for 5 in 17 overs, with Desron Maloney 59 and Kentish Phillips 47; Jeremy Solozano 2/27 and Glenson Guy 2/ 32.

Fairbaine United- 83 all out in 15.3 overs. Darie Peters 24.

For Simple Boys, Travis Cumberbatch  took 3/4 and Osborne Franklyn 3/20. Then Gomea Bombers registered a 37 -run win over Coreas Distribution Older Boys. Gomea Bombers rushed to 150/ 7 from 15 overs; Ovando O’Brien -39, Vennardo Primus 26 not out and Mickell Brereton 24.

Samuel Constance 3/ 16 and Rohan king 2/21, were Older Boys’ most successful bowlers. In response, Older Boys-113/4 from their 15 overs. Mc Donald Simmons 36, while Ovando O’ Brien took 2 /14.

In Sunday’s first match, East Kingstown overcame Glen United by 25 runs. East Kingstown – 131 all out in 18.5 overs; Michael Duncan 50, Adonis Oliver 23 not out, and Jarrel Edwards 20.

Bowling for Glen United, Trevin Campbell 3/22, Keshon Roberts 2/8, Maxi Hackshaw 2/11 and Jovain Samuel 2/32. Glen United – 106/7 in 20 overs; Maxi Hackshaw 41.

Jarrel Edwards had 2/ 8, bowling for East Kingstown. Then, Out Ah Trouble stopped New Level 151 runs.

Led by Jabari Cunningham’s 97 not out and 38 each from Stein Joseph and Renrick Williams, Out

Ah Trouble posted 233/ 5 in 17 overs. Anthony John scalped 3/42 for New Level, whose response was 87/7 from their 17 overs.

Rawdon Bentick- 21 and McNeil Morgan 20 not out, as Deron Strough took 3/ 18 and Richie Richard 2/ 8. And, Young Stallions won from Sunset Strikers by five wickets. Sunset Strikers- 106/ 8 in 15 overs. Isaiah Chandler 47 not out.

Young Stallions- 107 all out from 11.3 overs. Terrance Patterson 24 and Bradley Richards 20 not out.
