TBPO Softball Cricket hosts five matches

Five matches were played on the weekend of Saturday, September 9 and Sunday, September 10, 2023, in the National Lotteries Authority TBPO T/20 competition at the Dauphine Playing Field.

In match one on Saturday, Young Stallions beat East Kingstown by six wickets.

East Kingstown posted 123 for 9 in 20 overs. Britnol Scott 21.

Bowling for Young Stallions, Jayvon Jack had 5 for 24.

Young Stallions replied with 124 for 4 in 14 overs; Omar Woods 49.

Alex Providence was East Kingstown’s most successful bowler, taking 2 for 35.

In match two, Kombat Warriors overcame Gomea by 59 runs.

Batting first, Kombat Warriors reached 99 for 8 in 17 overs, as the match was reduced because of a late start. Marcus Hackshaw top-scored with 30.

Norlan Williams 3 for 3 and Venardo Primus 3 for 11, were Gomea Bombers most successful bowlers.

Gomea Bombers though were dismissed for 40 from 13.1 overs, undone by Kerwin Browne’s 3 for 8, Romano Peters 2 for 8 and Trevin Baptiste 2 for 11.

Sunday’s results saw New Level, Bank of SVG All Stars and Dauphine United in winners’ row.

New Level had the better of Advent United by 34 runs.

New Level, led by Marvin Harry 51, Rawdon Bentick 34, Anthony John 24 and Courtney Joyette 22, reached 196 for 6 from their allotted 20 overs.

Curtly Williams had 2 for 41, bowling for Advent United, whose response was 162 for 9 in their 20 overs Steve Cordice 50 and Max Horne 25 not out, were the lead batters, as Anthony John picked off 3 for 29 and Shemroy Primus 2 for 17.

Bank of SVG All Stars then registered a six wicket win over VINLEC Power Stars.

Kelly Murray had figures of 4 for 1, as Power Stars reached 70 for 6 from their 17 overs, as the match was reduced.

All Stars used up 8.3 overs, to rush to 72 for 4. Othniel Lewis 18 not out and Kody Horne 15 not out.

Shane Mc Dowall took 3 for 29, for Power Stars.

And, Dauphine United beat Valley Boys by three wickets. Valley Boys- 68 all out in 11.5 overs. Bowling for Dauphine United, Anthonell Palmer had 2 for 7 and Benjamin Forbes 2 for 25.

Dauphine United lost seven wickets, in their reply of 72, from 10.2 overs.

Anthonell Palmer top-scored with 20, while Keithlon Cudjoe, scalped 4 for 17, bowling for Valley Boys.
