Five students receive school supplies and cash

Five students, four who attended the Calliaqua Anglican School and one from the Fair Hall Primary School were this week the recipients of a quantity of school supplies and cash compliments a Vincentian residing in the United States.

The five students – Myra Quinton, Tavia Martin, Orion John, Ajani Francis and Sherian Barbour will be attending secondary school when the next academic year opens on September 4.

Quinton and Barbour will attend the Thomas Saunders Secondary, while John and Francis head to the St Vincent Grammar School and Martin, the St Joseph’s Convent Marriaqua.

Dominic Nash, originally from the Calliaqua area, said that he was prompted by the fact that his contemporaries have focused on giving back to their peers.

“I feel good doing this… It is something that I always want to do, now that I am in position to give back, I am doing it,” Nash revealed at last Tuesday’s short presentation.

Meanwhile, John on behalf of the recipients thanked Nash for his gesture.

In addition to the donations to the students, Nash presented Roger Gurley with Football and other equipment to continue the Youth Football programme he carries out at the Calliaqua Playing Field.
