Sean Stanley Table Tennis Academy hosts regional camp

The Sean Stanley Table Tennis Academy(SSTTA) will from August 11 to 21 host a Summer Camp and Tour.

Staged in conjunction with the Caribbean Unity Sports Inc, the camp will be boosted by participants from Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago.

Expected are six players from Trinidad and Tobago’s Queen’s Park Club and 10 from Barbados, along with parents.

They will be joined by 12 from St Vincent and the Grenadines, namely players from the SSTTA and the Adams Table Tennis Academy.

Additionally, the technical aspect of the camp, which takes place at the West St George Secondary School, is bolstered by the expertise of coaches – Aaron Edwards of Trinidad and Tobago and Kevin Farley of Barbados.

Excited about the overall benefits of the camp, Sean Stanley told SEARCHLIGHT: “Apart the Table Tennis, the visiting contingents will be taken on scenic drives, visit historic sites as well as take in many of what St Vincent and the Grenadines has to offer.… Some of the players and parents are coming to St Vincent and the Grenadines for the first time, so it is imperative that they get a tour of the country”.

Stanley noted that the intent is to extend St Vincent and the Grenadines’ sports tourism product, whilst fostering unity among young Table Tennis players.

“Participants of the camp will be exposed to different coaches who possess varied styles in coaching, which can only augur well for their development,” Stanley underscored.

Stanley is confident that the camp and tour will meet their objectives as all are on board with the undertaking.
