Football league and Harvest Bible Chapel team up in Sports Evangelism
A partnership between the North East Football League and the Harvest Bible Chapel, Georgetown, plans to use sport as a conduit towards evangelism.
Hence, a Sport Evangelism Grassroot Initiative at the Chili Playing Field, from July 17 to 20 saw more than 100 participants between the ages of 5 and 12 years involved in Football, Basketball, Volleyball and Baseball, while being schooled and in the virtues of a righteous living.
The four days also saw the input of members of the Radiant Bible Church of the USA, who graciously donated a pair of Football shoes to each of the participant.
Otashie Spring, chair of the Northeast Football League (NEFL), welcomed the initiative, noting that it will “assist in the social and spiritual development of the youths in the Georgetown area, and by extension, St Vincent and the Grenadines”.
Spring noted that the NEFL will continue to work with the Harvest Bible Chapel Georgetown, to ensure that the programme blossoms.
Meanwhile, Pastor Miche’ Paul of the Harvest Bible Chapel, complimented the partnership with NEFL in their maiden venture and stressed his organisation’s pleasure in serving the communities within the North East belt.
