Largo Height tops South Leeward Football
Largo Height defeated Rose Place 3-1 on penalties to win the Hairoun South Leeward League last Saturday, July 15, at the Campden Park Playing Field.
The clash of two teams from the West Kingstown constituency, proved worthy of a final, as they drew large followings from both communities.
Such was the competitive nature of the final that neither team was able to get on the score sheet in regulation time.
And, when it was left to the decisive kicks from the penalty spot, Largo Height’s players, were more adept than their Rose Place counterparts.
The two got to the final, after ousting their respective opponents from Campden Park.
Largo Height registered a 3-2 win over Lower Campden Park, and Rose Place stopped Top Campden Park, 2-1 in the other semifinal game.
Lower Campden Park, in the third place that preceded Saturday’s final, defeated Top Campden Park, 4-2 on penalties, as both were level 1-1 at the end of regulation time.
