Kombat Warriors secure inaugural softball cricket title

Kombat Warriors were last Saturday, June 24, crowned as inaugural champions of the F15 competition.

Facing East Kingstown in the final at the Richmond Hill Playing Field, Kombat Warriors won by eight wickets in a lopsided match.

Chasing 80 to win, Kombat Warriors, on the back of 53 not out from Romano Pierre, reached 82 for 2 from 8.4 overs.

When East Kingstown batted, they made 76 for 9 from their 15 overs, with Andrew Glasgow hitting 25, and Devorn Patterson, 22.

Bowling for Kombat Warriors, Marlon Farrell had 3 for 12 and Danroy Fergus, 2 for 8.

East Kingstown’s Andrew Glasgow took the most wickets- 24 and scored 241 runs, to be named player of the tournament.

Argyle International Airport’s Denson Hoyte, scored the most runs- 244.

For winning the tournament, Kombat Warriors collected a trophy and $2000; second placed, East Kingstown received $1200 and a trophy, with third placed Argyle International Airport walking away with a trophy and $800.
