Teenaged cyclist adds two more wins to his list

Gabriel Culzac, is having a dream start to his Cycling career, as he won both events held by the St.Vincent and the Grenadines Cycling Union last Saturday, May 27 and Sunday, May 28.

Culzac, who is new to the sport, won the 3.8 miles Hill Sprint on Saturday and returned the next day, to add the 19 -mile race to the list, thus making it three in a row.

Culzac’s winning time in the Hill Sprint was 19:32.16, as he was first to reach the Belmont Look Out, from the Sol Gas Station at Arnos Vale.

In the process, he left his father – Deptor Culzac, trailing in second place, with a 20:00.53 clocking.

Steve Ollivierre, was third in 22:10.35.

In making it win number three, Gabriel Culzac, stopped the clock at 1:00.47.64, in Sunday’s event that saw the cyclists beginning at the Koskab Building in Arnos Vale.

From there, they rode out to Diamond, then to the Arnos Vale Roundabout, making the loop twice before finishing just outside Rent and Drive at Arnos Vale.

The number two position was swapped, as Ollivierre clocked 1:01.02.16 and Deptor Culzac was third in 1:01.17.03.

Recognising the talent in the legs of the younger Culzac, veteran cyclist- Ollivierre offered words of encouragement to the 15- year-old, advising him “to keep at it”.
