The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Netball Association (SVGNA) is expected to soon announce the squad to represent this country in the Fast 5 Netball Tournament at the 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games, scheduled to be held in Trinidad and Tobago, August 4 – 11, 2023.

St Vincent and the Grenadines is one two Caribbean countries set to compete, and one of eight countries globally which will compete. They are- hosts Trinidad and Tobago, Australia, England, South Africa, Botswana, Canada, St Vincent and the Grenadines and Scotland.

It will be the first time ever that Fast 5 Netball is included on the Youth Games programme and competition for the inaugural title promises to be high. The Fast 5 tournament will be played at the Shaw Park Cultural Complex, and netball’s shorter, faster format is set to captivate fans. The Fast 5 format features multiple point shots, double point power plays, five players-a-side, and shortened quarters, creating an exciting spectator experience with the potential for unpredictable results.

Commonwealth Games Federation President, Dame Louise Martin was particularly excited about the first ever Fast 5 Netball competition, saying: “ The dynamic and innovative format promises to be one of the highlights of the Games.”
