Footballer in need of funds to travel for medical intervention

A appeal has gone out to Vincentians and others for financial assistance to help national footballer, Hosni Chandler obtain medical attention in Cuba at the shortest possible time. His club, BESCO- Pastures is seeking to raise the $71,000 that would enable the 25 year old to travel.

Persons who are willing to contribute can make their donations to the Pastures UTD FC’s account # 7104712 at the Bank of St Vincent and the Grenadines (BOSVG).

Additionally, support can be given to a football event set for this Saturday, April 29 at the Victoria Park organised by Chandler’s club.

Saturday’s fundraiser, will see three football matches being played, involving select teams from North East, South Leeward, North Leeward, Kingstown, Central Leeward and Greiggs.

North Leeward and North East will play from 4:30 p.m. This will be followed by South Leeward versus Greiggs and Central Leeward against Kingstown.

Chandler is to have a Cardiac Catheterisation done after he was diagnosed with an irregular, fast heartbeat in November last year following a football game.

Further tests revealed that he has a number of related health issues, including compromised left ventricular function.

He therefore has had to forgo the sport as well as other heavy physical activities. President of the BESCO- Pastures Club, Raymond Trimmingham said once they raise the required sum Chandler will travel to Cuba in May.
