Radcliffe take Premier Division Cricket title

Flow Radcliffe are the 2023 Premier Division Cricket champions.

They lifted the title after ending the seven team competition on 119 points, ahead of Police Two which tallied 104 points and ended in position number two.

Radcliffe took full points with a 130 run defeat of Carlos James MSDA Julius Anthony Northern Stars, at the Sion Hill Playing Field, while Police Two failed to do the same against Flow Rivals at the Park Hill Playing Field.

En route to securing the title, Radcliffe posted 184 in their first innings. Deron Graves had 56. Bowling for Northern Stars, Ronaldo Franklyn took 6 for 67, and Winston Samuel, 3 for 40.
In response, Northern Stars scored 150. Leshawn Lewis stroked 69 and Tilron Harry, 32.

For Radcliffe, Deron Greaves bagged 4 for 24, and Asif Hooper took 4 for 55.

Batting a second time, Radcliffe posted 231 for 8 declared. Othneil Lewis struck 6 sixes and 3 fours in his 13 ball 49, while Delorn John smashed 5 sixes and 1 four in his 39 not out.

Gidron Pope made 40 and Wayne Harper, 39.

The pick of Northern Stars’ bowling was again Ronaldo Franklyn who scalped 4 for 79 and Winston Samuel, 3 for 65.

Set 266 to win, Northern Stars were dismissed for 136. Harry led with 35, while Othniel Lewis bagged 7 for 58, and Asif Hooper took 2 for 50.

At the Park Hill Playing Field, Flow Rivals resisted Police Two and basically denied the law men the retention of the title.

Lindon James, turned back the hands of time smashing 11 fours and 10 sixes in an 82 ball 139 not out for Flow Rivals.

With James taking the limelight, Dean Browne was the next best contributor with 34, as Rivals posted 273 all out.

Bowling for Police Two, Shammon Hooper took 3 for 54, Dillon Douglas; 3 for 59; Desron Maloney, 2 for 9; and Romario Bibby, 2 for 43.

Police Two were dismissed for 222. Dillon Douglas scored 38 and Desron Maloney, 32.

Veteran bowlers Dyke Cato and Deighton Butler scalped 4 for 20, and 4 for 65 respectively.

Batting a second time, Rivals were 144 for 5, when the match ended. Davian Barnum scored 53 not out.

There were three wickets for Bibby and two for Douglas, as the match ended in a draw.

Flow Rivals ended in third position on 73 points, with Guardian General Saints placing fourth on 70 points, Victors One tallied 68 points; Northern Stars, 49; and Carlos Veira Rivals totalled 22 points.
