Radcliffe Two, Smashers win weekend first division matches

Radcliffe Two and Smashers won matches in the First Division of the ongoing National Cricket Tournament played on Sunday, February 20.

At the Park Hill Playing Field, Radcliffe Two defeated Strike Eagles by seven wickets.

Strike Eagles made 80 all out from 16.4 overs. Dexter Baynes took 3 for 10, and Kyle Bobb 2 for 26.

Radcliffe Two replied with 81 for 3 from 8.5 overs. Joe Williams led with 33.

And, at the Arnos Vale Two Playing Field, Smashers came away winners by one wicket over Keegan’s Bequia XI.

After being inserted, Bequia XI rallied to 162 all out from 23.3 overs. Joseph Francois top scored with 60.

The top bowlers for Smashers were Andre Hunte, who captured 5 for 16, and Courtney Joyette, with 3 for 44.

In their turn at the crease Smashers crossed the line at 169 for 8 from 25.1. Travis Cumberbatch made 33 and Bequia XI conceded an additioal 33 runs.

Jenry Ollivierre snared 5 for 37.

Three matches are down for decision this Sunday. Bequia XI faces Strike Eagles at the Stubbs Playing Field, Smashers play the high flying North Windward Volcano at Arnos Vale Two, while Victors Two and Police One face off at the Buccament Playing Field.
