Blue Marlins reward 2022 stand out swimmers
The Blue Marlins Swim Club last Saturday, January 21, at the Calliaqua Town Hall, rewarded their stand out swimmers in the various age categories and also recognized others who in some way were exemplary.
Walking with the coveted award of Most Outstanding Swimmer of 2022, was Hazen Dabriel. Among some of Dabriel’s top achievements were his five gold medals in the Boys 11- 12 age group at the OECS Swim Championships held in St Lucia.
In addition to his five first places, Dabriel copped five silver medals and a solitary bronze at the St Lucia outing.
Aedryon Sam was named the Most Improved swimmer, while Blossom McCalmon , Tru Matthias, Raya Adams, along with Belle Adams, were the recipients of special awards.
Raya Adams got another award, when she collected the Rickydene Alexander special prize.
In the age group segments, the 8 and Under awardees were Skylar Byron, Taj Henry, Saj Caesar and Kmar Rose.
The awardees in the 9 -12 age category were Belle Adams, Tayeah St Hillaire, Rolene Sam, Caghry Williams and Jadon Hamilton.
And, in the 13 and over age segment, the stand outs were Jod Baker and Malique Mayers.
The awards ceremony and cocktail of the Blue Marlins Swim Club was resuming after a suspension due to the COVID-19 pandemic; this was its third such function.
The event was last held in 2020.
