Ulanda Lewis back on track

After a lay off because of injury, one of St Vincent and the Grenadines’ promising female sprinters, Ulanda Lewis is back on the track competing.

She competed at the Arkansas University Invitational in Fayetteville, Arkansas last Friday, January 13.

Getting her indoor career kick started in her first year at the Louisiana Tech University, Lewis registered the fastest time in the 60m semifinals, that of 7.61s.

However, she opted out of the finals.

Lewis left St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) in 2021 on a scholarship to attend the University of Alabama. However, she switched last year to the Louisiana Tech University.

In 2019, at the Junior Carifta Games in the Cayman Islands, Lewis copped bronze in both the 100m and 200m, in the Under-17 age group.

Additionally, she is the National Under-20 record holder in the 100m and 200m.

Lewis is expected to be in action this Sunday, January 22, at the KMS Invitational in Birmingham, Alabama.
