Police constable is Sportswoman of the Year 2022

An ardent cricket lover and player of the game before her teen years, was named by the Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) as the 2022 sports woman of the year.

The accolade was bestowed on police constable (PC) 944 Kimone Homer on December 30, at the annual awards and dinner of the RSVGPF at the Russel auditorium, Stoney Ground.

On November 2, 2020, PC 944 Homer enlisted in the Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force, and is currently attached to the Special Services Unit (SSU).

An ardent lover of cricket, Homer has been playing the game from the tender age of 10 years old, and in 2020, she was named vice-captain of St. Vincent and the Grenadines senior female cricket team.

Homer continued to excel in the sport and in 2021, she gained selection to the St Vincent and the Grenadines Under-19 female cricket team. She was later selected to the Windward Islands senior female cricket team, which participated in the West Indies Regional Women Cricket Tournament held in Guyana from June to August 2022.

Homer’s continued development was further enhanced through her participation in several training camps in 2022, which were organized by Cricket West Indies, and were all hosted in Antigua.

These included a high-performance training camp from August 4-20, 2022; a development training camp for the West Indies senior female cricket team from October 16-27 2022; and the West Indies senior female cricket team development camp from November 20-29, 2022.

On Friday evening, December 30, 2022, PC 944 Kimone Homer was named by the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force as their Sportswoman of the Year.
