National Table Tennis Association elects new executive

Orville Haslam was returned unopposed as president of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Table Tennis Association (SVGTTA), as the national body hosted its elective general meeting last Wednesday evening, December 14, at the West St George Secondary School.

Elected as vice -president was Truman Quashie who defeated Anthony Patterson, 24-19; and Shari Ollivierre was elected as secretary, unopposed.

Romano Spencer got the nod 23-19 to become the new treasurer, staving off a challenge from Jomar Pope.

Mikael Hazelwood had no challenger and he was elected without opposition to the post of assistant secretary/treasurer, while Sean Stanley held on to his position as public relations officer. Stanley defeated Jonard Forde 24-19.

Three committee members were also elected in Unica Velox, Joseph Carrington and Leighton Adams. The trio received 21, 27 and 22 votes respectively.

Wednesday’s meeting also had the presentation of the SVGTTA’s financial report for last five years, as well as the president’s report for the same period.
