Georgetown and DSAGS meet today in Community College netball finals x
The Division of Arts, Sciences and General Studies (DASGS) Year Two, and the Georgetown Secondary School will lock horns today, December 9 to decide who will be crowned the 2022 St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College Invitational Netball champions.
The DASGS earned their place in the finals when they trounced Associates Combined 42-25 in one of two semi-final games on Wednesday December 7.
Associates Combined took an early lead in the opening stages of the first period, but DASGS Year Two took control and ended the first quarter 13-5.
They extended their lead to 22-12 at the end of the second quarter; then 33-19 at the end of the third, before cruising to their 17 goal margin of victory.
Goal-attack, Kyila Miller had an impressive performance sinking 22 of her 29 attempts, while goal-shoot Zanelle James scored 20 of her 32 tries for the DASGS Year Two.
The other semi-final game was an exciting low scoring affair between the Georgetown Secondary School and the Barrouallie Secondary School Warriors which saw excellent work by the defenses of both teams. However, it was the Georgetown Secondary School which held their nerve to win 16-12.
The diminutive figure of goal-attack, Giada Small converted 9 of her 14 attempts for the Georgetown Secondary School, while goal-shoot Rafanique Baptiste netted 7 of 11 attempts.
Georgetown Secondary led 5-2 after the first quarter, the scores were level at 7-all at the mid way point, 11-10 in favour of the Georgetown lasses at the end of the third quarter and ended with the 16-12 result.
