New Jules Anthony T/20 expected to be very competitive

Seven teams are expected to compete in the Jules Anthony North Super League Twenty/20 (T/20) cricket tournament named after one of the community’s sporting stalwarts who died a few years ago.

Lead organizer, Elron Lewis told SEARCHLIGHT that this tournament will be one of the best, and the name Jules Anthony is synonymous with cricket development in North Leeward.

Lewis pointed out that many of the leading players who are expected to take part in the upcoming tournament, participated in cricket tournaments organized by Anthony, which were played at the Petit Bordel Playing Field.

A number of leading cricketers in St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) are expected to turn up for the various teams.

The first phase of the tournament is scheduled to commence on Saturday, November 19, and will run until Sunday, December 18, 2022, for the Christmas break.

In that first phase 21 matches are down to be played; all matches will be played on Saturdays and Sundays at the Cumberland Playing Field.
