National Volleyball Championships return

The National Volleyball Championships return after a two year absence.

The Championships open tomorrow, Saturday, October 29 at the Girls’ High School hard court from 3:00 p.m.

A formal opening ceremony will precede the first set of matches.

Competition will be in five divisions: Elite Male, Male A, Male B, Female A and Female B.

Seventeen teams drawn from four clubs will be seeking honours.

Topping the list are Country Roots and Gremlins, each with six teams; Unique Touch, four; and Alliance, one team.

When the championships were last held in 2019, Country Roots took the Elite Male and Gremlins One, the Female titles.

No championships were held in 2020 and 2021, because of the coronavirus pandemic in the first instance, then the eruptions of La Soufriere volcano.
