Round D Town Road Relay returns
After a year’s absence, Team Athletics SVG will this Sunday, September 25, host its Round D Town Relay, which kicks off the Road Racing season.
The four-leg event will see competition in the primary schools, secondary schools as well as open categories.
All legs begin and end in front of the First Caribbean International Bank (FCIB) on Halifax Street.
Primary school athletes, from the start point, will head to Sharpe Street then on to Bay Street, turning on Higginson Street and back to the start point.
Meanwhile, those in the secondary and open brackets, from the start point, run along Sharpe Street on to Bay Street, but will turn on Linley Street, before heading back to FCIB.
When the 2020 edition took place, the Fitz Hughes Government School ran away with both the male and female segments.
In the secondary schools’ category, Petit Bordel Secondary won the female and the Central Leeward Secondary, the male.
And, the male open category was won by Diamonds Village, with IT- DAT Academy, trumping the female.
Sunday’s Round D Town Road Relay is set to begin at 3 pm.
