Four named to represent SVG at NACAC Open

Handal Roban, Mc Kish Compton, Javon Rawlins and Jabari Michael Khensu, are St Vincent and the Grenadines’ representatives at the fourth edition of the North American, Central American and Caribbean (NACAC) Open Championships, in Freeport, Bahamas, August 19 to 21.

The quartet are fresh from their sojourn at the XXII Commonwealth Games, in Birmingham, England, which ended earlier this month.

Like the Commonwealth Games, the four will be competing at the NACAC Open for the first time.

Roban, this country’s all-time 800m record holder, competes in that event, doing so with an entry time of 1:48.31.

Meanwhile, Compton and Rawlins are entered in the 100m, at seedings of 10.43s and 10.47s, respectively. And, Michael Khensu enters the 200m at 21.48s.

At their most recent outings at the Commonwealth Games, Roban clocked 1:48.57, Compton did 10.62s, with Rawlins timing at 10.79s and Michael-Khensu, 21.81s.

Roban, Compton and Rawlins are based in Jamaica, while Michael-Khensu is US based.
