Vincentian athlete gets his PB on a big occasion

Desroy Jordan registered his personal best in the Men’s 400m, when he clocked 47.49 seconds at the Jackson Stadium on Day Six of Competition in the XXII Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England, Wednesday, August 3.

Jordan, who ran in lane seven of Heat One, placed fifth, but bettered his entry time, which was given as 47.76 seconds.

Also, on Wednesday, the country’s all-time 800m record holder Handal Roban clocked 1:48.57 in Heat Three to place fourth.

Then yesterday, Thursday, August 4, Jabari Michael Khensu timed 21.81 seconds in the men’s 200m to finish sixth in Heat Four.

When the Track and Field segment of the Games opened on Tuesday, August 2, Mc Kish Compton was fourth in Heat Six of the Men’s 100m, clocking 10.62 seconds and Javon Rawlins in Heat Nine was seventh in 10.79 seconds.

St Vincent and the Grenadines’ other competitor in Track and Field, Mikiesha Welcome, is set to compete in the Women’s Long Jump final today, Friday, August 5.
