Special Olympic SVG bags Bocce gold at USA Games

SPECIAL OLYMPICS athletes from St Vincent and the Grenadines completed a successful outing at the Special Olympics USA games in Orlando, Florida, June 5-10.

Topping the performance were Terrence Davis and Gamal Antoine, who combined to win gold in Bocce.

Davis competed in three individual games to gain a silver medal, while Antione was involved in the same number, to gain a bronze medal.

In the Tennis Singles, Natasha Doyle took fourth place, while Ornoro John gained a silver medal. Doyle and John in doubles play, earned silver.

The Bocce team was coached by Woodrow ‘Keylee’ Williams, and the Tennis team was coached by Roxann Williams.

The other members of the contingent were Team Doctor, Franke Joseph and National Director, Sezevra Joseph.

Apart from St Vincent and the Grenadines, the Caribbean was represented by athletes from Antigua and Barbuda, Aruba, the Bahamas, Bermuda, Dominica, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, St Kitts and Nevis, and Trinidad and Tobago.
