SVG strikes gold at the Friendship Games in Fort De France

St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG), struck gold at the Friendship Games in Fort De France, Martinique last weekend. In her first outing in national colours, Shaquania Jacobs of the Thomas Saunders Secondary School, and the Xceed Sports Club, ran a personal best time of 25.15 to win the U/17 Girls 200m.

Zichri Hepburn of the Barroaullie Secondary School and High Performance Track Club, took his middle distance dominance regionally, when he won the U/17 Boys 800m in 2:01.07s.

Also travelling to Martinique was Girl’s High School and High Performance sprinter, Jadiesha Samuel who was third in her U/17 Girls 200m heat, and seventh overall with a time of 26.08; and J’mar Saunders of the IT DAT Academy and the St. Martin’s Secondary School, who was fifth in the U/17 Boys 200m in 22.93.
