Vincy Heat loses both friendlies against Dominica

ST VINCENT AND THE Grenadines (SVG) lost both international football friendlies against Dominica in Dominica by an aggregate score of 5-2.

Dominica drew first blood in the first of the two international friendly matches, with a come from behind 2-1 win over Vincy Heat at the Windsor Park Stadium on Thursday, May 12, 2022.

Malcolm Stewart opened the scoring for St. Vincent and the Grenadines in the third minute of play, but Dominica’s captain, Briel Thomas got the equaliser for the Nature Boys in the fourteenth minute with a beautiful header from a set play.

The teams went into the half-time interval with scores level at 1-l. About three minutes from full time, Dominica’s overseas based player, Daryl Longdon blasted home a powerful left footer in the 87th minute to break the deadlock and secure a 2-1 victory for the hosts.

In the second international friendly on Sunday, May 15 at the same venue, Dominica won 3-1. Audel Laville scored for the hosts in the 32nd minute. The visitors however scored the equaliser when Rondell Thomas found the back of the Dominicans’ net; but Laville struck again in the 61st minute to place Dominica ahead again, and Javid George put the game beyond the reach of the Vincy Heat team with the third goal in the 86th minute.
