SVG Road Tennis Association executive established
A nine-member executive has been elected to administer the affairs of the first ever St Vincent and the Grenadines Road Tennis Association.
The historic election was held on Thursday, May 12 at the National Sports Council’s Conference Room at Arnos Vale.
Headed by president, Conrad Simon, the executive also includes Lloyd Small, vice president; Winston Snagg, treasurer; Annette Joseph, secretary, with Roxanne Williams serving as assistant secretary. Sean Stanley is the association’s public relations officer, with committee members in Rafique Hadaway, Olanzo Jackson and Romique Hooper.
The tenure for the newly installed executive is four years.
Road Tennis, which has been popularized by Barbados is said to have its origins in the 1930s, as natives then, were unable to afford Lawn Tennis.
