SVGFF/ IFHA agreement bearing fruit

A US$ 2,500 one-year agreement between the St Vincent and the Grenadines Football Federation (SVGFF) and the International Football Heritage Agency (IFHA), has begun to bear fruit.

The agreement which was made public by the SVGFF last month sees IFHA commissioned to identify international players, both male and female, who are of Vincentian descent and are eligible to represent various St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) teams.

The players who must be playing at a professional, semi-professional or collegiate level will be recruited by IFHA on behalf of the SVGFF.

The work of IFHA has already netted male and female players from the USA, Canada and the United Kingdom.

Director of Technical Matters of the SVGFF, Theon Gordon noted: “ IFHA has already identified eleven male players and nine female players”.

Gordon further said that one of the female players identified has since travelled to SVG from the UK to get familiarised with the process.

Giving some details of the SVGFF/ IFHA agreement, Gordon said: “ The players who IFHA have identified, once we use them in our teams then is where the additional payments to IFHA come in”.

Apart from the identification of players in the Diaspora, IFHA will be the official vendor for the SVGFF’s merchandise, doing so via IFHA’s online platform.
