Four new records set at Buccament

Four new records were established last Friday, March 4 when the Buccament Bay Secondary School held its annual track meet at the Buccament Bay Playing Field after a two-year absence due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Agreanna Miller of Martin House set a new mark in the Intermediate Girls 100-metres with a time of 12.99 seconds, erasing the old record of 13.09 seconds set by Darecia Lewis in 2016.

Miller also reset the Intermediate Girls 400-metres record with a blistering time of 1 minute 14.13 seconds, eclipsing the old mark of 1 minute 15:49 seconds that was set by Laquanda Soso.

The Intermediate Boys 100-metres record of 11.32 seconds which was set by Tejohn Braide in 2016 was reset by Mozart Lavia of Jackson House in a time of 11.30 seconds.

In the relays, the Jackson House Intermediate Boys sprint team ran their hearts out to set a new 4X100-metres relay record of 49.58 seconds, erasing the old mark of 50.70 seconds, which was also set by Jackson House in 2016.

Akua Jack, 28 points of Charles House was named Junior Girls champion and the Junior Boys Champion is Gamal Holder of Francis House who amassed 43 points.

Agreanna Miller of Martin House totalled 51 points to be crowned the Intermediate Girls Champion, while the Intermediate Boys Champion is Mozart Lavia of Jackson House, also with 51 points. Lavia also was named the 2022 Victor Ludorum.

Eshanna Phillips of Jackson House who racked up 60 points won the Senior Girls Champion title and also was was crowned the 2022 Victrix Ludorum.

The Senior Boys Champion is Rashad Anthony of Charles House who totalled 49 points.

Charles House emerged Champions of the meet having amassed a weighty 1,324 points, 318 ahead of Jackson House which placed second on 1,006 points.

Francis House on 932 points took the third spot, while Martin House with 866 points placed fourth.
