Vincentian athletes continue to perform well in Jamaica

Four Vincentians in Jamaica have produced notable performances in the Corporate Area Champs development meet in Kingston, Jamaica, which was held on March 4-5.

Long Jumper, Uroy Ryan set a new National U/20 record when he placed 2nd in his event with distance of 7.59m, smashing his own record of 7.40m set last year. The jump also qualified him for the 2022 Carifta Games and World Athletics Junior Championships.

Amal Glasgow also made the qualification standards for Carifta and World Juniors in the 400m with a time of 47.39.

Verrol Sam came away with a victory, Carifta qualification, National U/20 and senior record in the high jump when he cleared the bar at 2.05m; while middle distance runner, Handal Roban set a meet record in the 800m in a time of 1:49.53.
