Keron Cottoy named Volcanoes’ vice- captain

Vincentian – Keron Cottoy has been named Vice- Captain of the Windward Islands Volcanoes for the first and second round matches of the West Indies four day Professional Cricket League this month in Trinidad. Cottoy will be deputy to Dominican, Kavem Hodge.

The 15 member squad also sees the inclusion of three players for the first time, in Ackeem Agustine of St Lucia, and the Grenadian pair of Teddy Bishop and Darel Cyrus.

Veteran opener, Devon Smith along with fellow Grenadians, Denis Smith, Ryan John , Josh Thomas, Shermon Lewis and Preston Mc Sween are also part of the squad’s make up.

Completing the 15 are the St Lucian pair of Kimani Melius and Larry Edwards, Dominica’s Allick Athanaze and Vincentian, Kenneth Dember.

Shirley Clarke is the team’s coach; John Eugene is the assistant coach; Liam Sebastian is the manager and Mario Christopher, the Physiotherapist.

The Volcanoes play their opening match against the Guyana Harpy Eagles from February 9-12 , at the Queen’s Park Oval, and the Trinidad and Tobago Red Force at the Brian Lara Academy, February 16-19.

The regional four -day cricket competition, returns after the last edition in 2020 was aborted, following the declaration of the corona virus pandemic.
