Kesrick Williams signs with US All Stars

Vincentian fast bowler Kesrick Williams will suit up for the US All Stars in this year’s edition of the US Open T/20 cricket tournament, which takes place December 6 to 13 at the Central Broward Regional Park in Fort Lauderdale.

Williams, who last year turned out for the Atlanta Param Veers, will join a number of other West Indians in the All Stars’ line up.

Williams will have fellow West Indians – Trevon Griffith, Lendl Simmons, Denesh Ramdin, Imran Khan, Yannick Ottley, Jon Russ Jagessar, Javelle Glen, Nyeem Young and Fidel Edwards.

In all, 37 West Indians have been signed by the various franchises. Of that total, 17 are from Trinidad and Tobago.

Williams’ US All Stars team will play alongside Cavaliers 22 Yards, Yankee Royals, Brampton Pacers and NDCC Mace Royals in Group A. Group B comprises Titans CC, Florida Scorpions, Samp Army, Punjab Blue and Clarion Country Eagles teams.

The two top teams will advance to the semi-finals, with the winner of Group A meeting the runner-up of Group B and the runner-up of Group A facing the winner of Group B.

For Williams, the US All Stars adds to his list of T/20 franchises which he has represented. He has played for the Jamaica Tallawahs, St Lucia Zouks, St Lucia Stars, Kamataka Tuskers, Rajshahi Kings, Toronto Nationals, Chattogram Challengers, Chittagong Vikings and Pokhara Rhinos.
