Cyclists warm for Sunday’s road race

LOCAL CYCLISTS warmed up for this Sunday’s road race, when they took to the ET Joshua Airport tarmac last Sunday in an event geared at tuning them up.

Sunday’s event brought out seven competitors, four in the Elite Category and three in the Masters.

Winning the Elite Category was Lucky Antrobus, in a time of 41:5.52. Second was Ojarrah Mayers, whose clocking was 44:57.25. Rivas Young docked in third in 44.57.25, and Marlon Antrobus was fourth, in 45:7.12.

Peter Durrant topped the Masters Category, being first in 33: 23.71. Carlos Rivas second in 35:50.24 and Martin Bollers took the third spot in 36:23.47.

The Elite Category cyclists rode for 13.2 miles, while the Masters completed 9.90 miles.

With the muscles tuned up, the cyclist will ride from Arnos Vale to Diamond and finish at Belair.
