After two days of trails, June 19 and 26, the National Athletics Championships will take place tomorrow at the Diamond Track Facility.

It will be the first time that the facility, which was officially opened last November will host the event.

Facilitated by Team Athletics SVG, tomorrow’s championships have a total of 55 events down to be contested.

The day’s proceedings will get going at 12 noon, with the 400m Hurdles open.

Other events include the javelin (open), long jump (open, Under-20 and Under-15), high jump (Under-20 and open), triple Jump open), and discus (Under-20 and open).

Meanwhile, the 100m, 200m, 400, 4 x 100m events will be run across all age groups, Under-15, Undeer-17, Under-20 and open categories.

The Under-15 females are slated to run the 1000m, the Under-15 males- the 1200, with the 1500m reserved for the Under-20s and open.

Competing in the 800m will be athletes in the Under-17, Under- 20 and open, while 4 x 200m are for the Under-15s and running the 4 x 400m will be the Under-17, U-20 and open.

Already concluded are the Under-17 and Under-20 shot putt, the Under-15, Under-17 and 20-and-over high jump.
