Obed Mc Coy set for PSL

Vincentian left-arm fast bowler, Obed Mc Coy, has been selected for the Multan Sultans, as the Pakistan Super League (PSL) held a replacement draft on Tuesday.

He replaces fellow West Indian Carlos Brathwaite in the squad.

It will be Mc Coy’s first taste of the PSL, which is set to restart on June 2. The PSL was suspended on March 4, after an outbreak of coronavirus cases within the teams.

Mc Coy’ s recent form in the Abu Dhabi T/10 tournament, in which he picked up 10 wickets for Team Abu Dhabi, would have propelled his status.

Following that debut stint in the Abu Dhabi T/10 league, Mc Coy retuned to the West Indies T/20 outfit for their three-match series against Sri Lanka in Antigua in March.

He played in all three T/20Is, taking 4 wickets at the cost of 88 runs.

Apart from Mc Coy, four other West Indians were roped in by franchises. Andre Russell was signed by the Quetta Gladiators, while the trio of Rovman Powell, Fabian Allen and Fidel Edwards were taken up by the Peshawar Zalmi.

West Indians already in the PSL, are Sherfane Rutherford, who is with the Peshawar Zalmi; Chris Gayle, Quetta Gladiators and Chadwick Walton, Karachi Kings.
