Four Vincentians retained in Windwards Volcanoes PCL squad

Keron Cottoy, Kenneth Dember, Obed Mc Coy and Desron Maloney were all maintained by the Windward Islands Volcanoes for the upcoming Cricket West Indies Professional Cricket League (PCL).

The quartet were pre-selected ahead of yesterday’s draft, which featured only two rounds of selection.

At yesterday’s draft, the Volcanoes selected Kevin Stoute of Barbados and St Lucian, Jamal James.

Stoute is a former Barbados captain, who has 13 years behind him as a first class player.

The Volcanoes squad is completed by Grenadians Shermon Lewis, Devon Smith, Josh Thomas, Denis Smith, Ryan John and Preston Mc Sween.

St Lucians Kimani Melius and Larry Edward, along with Kavem Hodge of Dominica, complete the 15-member squad.

The Windward Islands finished second from bottom on the six-team table in the last PCL which ended in March.

The 2020 first class season had an abridged version with eight rounds of the intended ten rounds played.

This was done after the coronavirus (Covid-19) was declared a pandemic in mid-March by the World Health Organisation.
Barbados Pride was declared champions.
