Six centuries scored in cricket run fest weekend
SIX CENTURIES were scored last weekend in the national cricket programme of the SVG Cricket Association Inc.
Four of the centuries were scored in the National Lotteries Authority premier division hosted its usual two fixtures.
Three of the centuries were registered at the Arnos Vale One Playing Field, as Deron Greaves (124), Romano Pierre (112) and Shamon Hooper, powered FLOW Radcliffe to 503/ 7, feasting on Victors One’s depleted bowling attack.
In between the onslaught, Urnel Thomas, Cody Dabreo and Atticus Browne, each picked up two wickets.
Radcliffe were replying to Victors One’s 98, in which Atticus Browne topscored with 39.
Asif Hooper again led with the ball, bagging 4 for 63 and Othneil Lewis, 3 for 7.
In arrears by 405 runs, Victors One made 153. Kenson Dalzell scored 47 and Atticus Browne, 45.
Othneil Lewis took 3 for 57, as Radcliffe won by an innings and 251 runs.
At the Sion Hill Playing Field, FLOW Rivals took first innings over Guardian General Saints.
Batting first, Saints posted 205 all out. Seon Sween scored 37.
But it was the renewed Lindon James who snared 6 for 44 and Hyron Shallow picked off 3/ for 7.
Lindon James then crafted 102 not out, to pilot Rivals to 303 all out. Kody Horne contributed 48. Geron Wyllie was the pick of Saints’ bowling, taking 4 for 74, as the match petered out to a draw.
NLA First Division
The triple figures scoring also continued in the National Lotteries Authority First Division, as Hanif Oliver hit an even 100 for Vee Jay’s Roof Top and Bar North Windward at the London Playing Field.
Oliver’s century was complemented by Mickron Mc Donald’s 61 to lead their team to 237 for 4, in reply to Police One. Osrick James took 2 for 51, bowling for Police One.
When the lawmen batted, they had made 235 all out in 35.2 overs. Parnell Browne scored 58. Denison Hoyte had 3 for 22 for North Windward.
Meanwhile, defending champions CJ Julius Anthony MSDA Northern Stars registered a 175-run win over Radcliffe Two at Arnos Vale Two.
Northern Stars piled on 274 all out from 37.1 overs. McLeon Williams hit 48, while Elron Lewis and Newborn Joseph, both struck 45.
Paulson Mack took 3 for 49, bowling for Radcliffe Two, whose reply was 99 all out, from 21.3 overs. Dawson Cottle snared 4 for 28.
And, the French Verandah SVG Community College overcame Smashers by 33 runs at the Stubbs Playing Field.
SVG Community College scored 108 all out in 30.4 overs, after being 50 for 7. Rohan Ash took 3 for 28.
Smashers fell for 75 in 21.2 overs. Joelano Neil scored 36. Azar Williams took 3 for 21 and Reynolson Hillocks, 3 for 22, bowling for SVG Community College.
Women’s 40 – over
Glen Turtin on Saturday at the Buccament Bay Playing Field, stroked 126 not out and Crystal John, 54, versus CJ Julius Anthony MSDA Northern Girls, as JG Tigress posted 264 for 4 from their 29 overs. The match was reduced because of rain.
Northern Girls, in response scored 103 all out in 20 overs. Sue-Ann Matthews scored 32.
Lafiena Sam scalped 3 for 7 and Rochelle John, 3 for 19, as JG Tigress won by 161 runs.
