Girls’ High School again, again

THEY FIRST CLAIMED the schools’ volleyball title in 2018, repeated it in 2019, and last Tuesday on their own court, the Girls’ High School are still champions.

GHS though had to ward off a strong challenge from the Georgetown Secondary, but won 3-1 ( 25-21, 37-39, 25-12, 25-20).

PLAYER OF THE final – Ziel Cain

Playing a major role in the GHS’ triumph, was player of the final, Ziel Cain.

Last Friday, the GHS made sure they would have another crack at the title, when they overcame the Bethel High School in straight sets, 25-14, 25-20, in one semi-final.

In the other semi-final, Georgetown had to dig deep, to withstand the efforts of West St George, but pulled through 16-25, 25-20, 16-14.

West St George had the consolation of the third place, as they beat the Bethel High School in the play off which preceded last Tuesday’s final. The scores were 25-15, 25-14.

The date for the male final has to be reset, after rain forced play to be called last Tuesday, with the Georgetown Secondary leading the West St George Secondary, one set to nil .
