BOSVG doing more together for SVGNA
THE BANK OF SVG (BOSVG), has committed itself to sponsoring the National Netball Tournament of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Netball Association (SVGNA) for the next three years.
The revelation of BOSVG’s corporate support came last Sunday at the opening of the 2020 edition of the national tournament, at the Kingstown Netball Centre.

Making the announcement on behalf of BOSVG was Alana Mc Master, who said, “We are very pleased to officially announce our partnership agreement with the St Vincent and the Grenadines Netball Association to be the premiere sponsor of the national netball tournament for the next three years, at a total cost of $90,000”.
In showing the breakdown, Mc Master related, “an amount of $26,000 will be paid in the form of cash and other donations… Given that education is a very important component of our corporate social responsibility, an amount of $4,000 will be allocated in the form of a scholarship to the most outstanding player of the tournament to attend the SVG Community College for two years”.
And, prior to last Sunday’s opening, the social club of the BOSVG assisted the SVGNA further, by painting and doing some minor refurbishments to the Kingstown Netball Centre.
BOSVG thus would be major sponsor, with FLOW continuing its contribution, as the two entities partner to promote netball here in St Vincent and the Grenadines.
Also addressing last Sunday’s opening were president of the SVGNA Doris Mc Intosh; Minister of Tourism, Sports and Culture Ces Mc Kie, Daz Arthur of FLOW and Suzanna Ollivierre, chair of the SVG Olympic Committee’s Women in Sports Commission.
Following the formalities, Metrocint General Maple were declared the best dressed team on parade, while SVG General Services Strikers won best banner.
The day was capped off with an exhibition match between an SVG senior team and the Tobago Elite team.
When the final whistle sounded, it was the host team that triumphed 35-25.
Thirty-one teams in four divisions, are contesting the tournament, which will consist of a league and a knock-out competition.
