Ray Charles sees Saints overcome Victors One

RAY CHARLES BOWLED Guardian General Saints to a come-from-behind win over Victors One at the Sion Hill Playing Field, last Sunday, in the National Lotteries Authority Premier Division of the national cricket programme.

Saints had set Victors One 101 for victory, but Charles’ 5 for 19, saw Victors One crumbling for 82 all out. Kimson Dalzell was the topscorer with 35.

When the match began on Saturday, Saints were dimissed for 93. Jeremy Layne scored 27, while Luke Wilson took 4 for 27 and Cody Dabreo, 2 for 25 .

Victors One’s reply was 100 all out. Atticus Browne and Norlan Williams both made 39. Jeremy Haywood bagged 5 for 22 for Saints.

In their second visit to the crease, Saints made 117, with Alex Samuel stroking 35.

Norlan Williams had 4 foir 28 and Ronaldo Franklyn, 3 for 14.

At Arnos Vale One, Police Two took first innings points from defending champions FLOW Rivals.

Rivals reached 137 all out. Lindon James- scored 63. Kesrick Williams took 2 for 17 and Sylvan Spencer, 2 for 30, bowling for Police Two,.

In response, Police Two scored 219 all out. Salvan Browne continued his rich form, with 81. Hyron Shallow snared 6 for 53.

Rivals in their second innings was 157 for 1, at the end of the play. Hyron Shallow scored 91 and

Kody Horne, 56 not out.

In the National Lotteries 50 overs first division, Pollard Investments North Windward Combine and Vee Jay’s Roof Top and Bar North Windward were victorious.

At Arnos Vale Two, North Windward Combine overcame Carlos James Julius Anthony MSDA Northern Stars by 130 runs.

North Windward Combine scored 287 all out in 45.3 overs. Kerwin Williams scored 59, Erwin Williams, 50 and Julian Edwards, 43.

Mayor Edwards took 3 for 29, bowling for Northern Stars.

O’ Jay Matthews scored 58, and led Northern Stars’ unsuccessful response of 157 all out from 21.5 overs. Deswayne Williams had 3 for 27 and Dean Browne, 3 for 36, for North Windward Combine.

And, at the London Playing Field, North Windward got past French Verandah SVG Community College by 44 runs.

North Windward, on the back of a last-wicket partnership of 98, rallied to 253 all out in 33.2 overs. Elroy Brackin hit a quickfire 73, while Jerden Jacobs took 3 for 36 and Reynolson Hillocks, 3 for 79.

The SVG Community College made 209 all out in 36 overs. Derron Matthews scored 62.

For North Windward, Denson Hoyte snared 4 for 47 and Haniff Ollivierre, 3 for 42.
