Simple Boyz win big in TBPO softball cricket

Gairy’s Construction Simple Boyz registered a massive 182-run win over Coreas Distribution on Saturday at the Dauphine Playing Field, as the National Lotteries Authority Top Belair Progressive Organisation (TBPO) 20/20 softball cricket competition continued.

Despite the match being reduced to 15 overs per side, because of a late start, Simple Boyz plundered 221 for 9 from their 15 overs.

Stein Joseph hit 52, Nicos Davis, 41, Kemron John, 37 and Asborne Franklyn, 33.

Antonio Caesar had 3 for 35 and Jason Caesar, 2 for 45, bowling for Coreas Distribution.

In response, Coreas Distribution were dismissed for 39 in 10 overs.

Bowling for Simple Boyz, Keneal Skinner scalped 3 for 5, Adolph Adams, 2 for 5 and Kentish Phillips, 2 for 12.

Before Simple Boyz’ triumph, Hard Hitters had an easy win as Dauphine United did not show for their match.

On Sunday, Gomea Bombers and Challengers were both in the winner’s column.

Gomea Bombers won from One Team by 41 runs, as both teams played for 17 overs, as the match got off to a late start.

Bernard Bushay stroked 35 and Ovando O’ Brian, 27, to lead Gomea Bombers’ total of 129 for 8 from their 17 overs. Enrique Daniel, with 2 for 29, was One Team’s most successful bowler.

One Team’s reply was 88 for 8 from their 17 overs, as their innings was undone by the bowling of Kenton Mc Fee, who had 3 for 29 and Raymond Sayers, 2 for 13.

And, Challengers beat Nice Radio Clinchers by 40 runs, in another 17-over affair, occasioned by a late commencement.

Challengers batted first and scored 116 for 8 from their 17 overs. Britnol Scott hit 51.

Bowling for Clinchers, Romano Pierre took 3 for 10 and Danroy Fergus, 3 fior 21.

Clinchers replied with 76 all out in 12.1 overs. Lesroy Richards scored 21 and Vincent Cupid, 20.

Kendal Payne snared 3 for 9 and Ronike James, 3 for 15, bowling for Challengers.
