RSVG Police keep on the beat in NL cricket

Defending champions RSVG Police beat Peto Stars by 36 runs on Saturday at the Cumberland Playing Field, as the Jules Anthony VINLEC North Leeward 20 /20 cricket  competition continued on the weekend.

RSVG Police made 135 for 8 from their 20 overs, with Dion Bynoe and Jaheil Walters both making 27.

Bowling for Peto Stars, Allison Samuel took 2 for 20, Jade Matthews, 2 for 22 and O’ Jay Matthews, 2 for 28.

Peto Stars in reply, 99 all out from 15.3 overs. Arben Neverson scored 28 and Desron Lavia, 24.

Kimarli Williams, who took 2 for 10 and Sylvan Spencer, 2 for 24, were the lawmen’s most successful bowlers.

On Sunday, Ajuba and Rose Bank Big League champed over their opponents.

Ajuba got past Carlos James Troumaca Starlight by 10 runs.

Ajuba, on the back of Kesrick Williams’ 47 and Akeil Mason’s 34, posted 152 for 6 from their 20 overs.

Donald Delpesche took 2 for 9 and Geron Wyllie, 2 for 31.

Troumaca Starlight’s reply ended when they were dismissed for 142 from 19.3 overs. Jeremy Haywood and Niclon Alexander both got 27 and Dorson Cottle, 23.

Bowling Ajuba to victory were Drumo Toney with 4 for 21, Kesrick Williams, 2 for 18 and Leon Samuel, 2 for 20.

And, Big League outplayed Upsetters by 10 wickets.

Upsetters made 33 in 11.2 overs, as Shangi John scalped 4 for no run and Jide John had 3 for 13.

Big League replied with 37 for no wicket, with Gidron Pope scoring 34 not out.

RSVG Police will get this weekend’s action going when they meet Summerset on Saturday from 10 a.m., with Peto Stars taking on Ruddy’s Electrical from 2 p.m.

Sunday’s match features Rose Bank Big League against Carlos James Troumaca Starlight.
