Stein Joseph shines for Belair Sunset Strikers
One of this country’s most popular softball cricketers, Stein Joseph, slammed 129 last Saturday for Belair Sunset Strikers versus Red Lions in the Caesar’s Real Estate, Hairoun Beer, FLOW, Nar Fren Dem Greiggs T/20 softball cricket competition, at the Greiggs Central Playing Field.
Joseph’s knock was complemented by Travis Cumberbatch’s 78, as Belair Sunset Strikers amassed 245 for 3 from their 17 overs.
Antonio Glasgow took 2 for 26, bowling for Red Lions, who responded with 92 for 8 from their 17 overs.
Calbert Simmons took 3 for 23, as Sunset Strikers won by 153 runs.
Before them, Sion Hill Tallawahs overcame Israel Bruce Smashers by 35 runs.
Sion Hill Tallawahs batted first and scored 131 all out in 18 overs, with Denson Hoyte topscoring with 68.
Smashers’ St Clair Dickson bagged 5 for 10.
Smashers’ response was 96 all out from 16 overs. Glenford Woodley stroked 56, as Omarie Sutherland picked off 3 for 20, bowling for Sion Hill Tallawahs.
Sunday’s three matches were postponed because of the passage of Tropical Storm Karen.
Rescheduled are the Log Enterprises Supreme Strikers versus Caeser’s Real Estate Nar Fren Dem; Rasfarco against Dr. Thomas Injectors and Hard Hitters versus Ninja Eleven.
