More coaches added to SOSVG’s kick it programme

Ten coaches are now associated with the Special Olympics SVG’s (SOSVG) “Kick It” programme.

This is an expansion of the programme, as SOSVG makes another pitch for strengthening its unified football.

The aim of unified football is for persons with intellectual disabilities to play alongside those who are without intellectual disabilities.

To this end, SOSVG recently hosted a one-day workshop with football coaches in view of the unified football.

The workshop, which was facilitated by Woodrow Williams, dealt with several topics relevant to dealing with persons with intellectual disabilities.

Once in full flow, the “Kick It” programme will be operating in Kingstown, Calliaqua, Georgetown, Layou and Bequia.

St Vincent and the Grenadines is determined to have a unified football team at the next Special Olympic World Games set for Berlin, Germany in 2023.
