SVGTTA firms ties with church organisation

The St Vincent and the Grenadines Table Tennis Association (SVGTTA) has found a doubles partner, in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

After using the church’s recreational hall last week to host the National Table Tennis Championships, the facility has been made available for further use by table tennis players who are under the aegis of the SVGTTA.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the championships last Saturday night, president of the SVGTTA Orville Haslam thanked the church for coming to the aid of the association.

“It is an excellent facility for training,” Haslam noted.

Haslam also called on players who will be using the recreational centre to adhere to its rules and most of all “leave it clean”.

In turn, the SVGTTA last Saturday, handed for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints a table tennis board, a net, two racquets and a quantity of balls.
