Vincentians Linda Mc Dowall and Junior Ashton, copped the female and male categories, respectively, of the 14th edition of the Caricom 10K, which was staged in St Lucia, last Sunday morning.
Mc Dowall, who won the 2017 and 2018 editions, clocked 40 minutes 40 seconds, as she completed her hat-trick of titles.
Second to Mc Dowall, and a repeat of last year’s podium finishers, were Grenada’s Kenisha Pascal, who was second and Carlie Pipe of Barbados, third.
Pascal’s time was 41 minutes 32 seconds, with Pipe timing 41.39 seconds.
Meanwhile, in the male segment, Ashton, who finished in last year event held in Jamaica, went two places up, to stand at the top of the podium, in a time of 34 minutes 22 seconds.
Ashton was ahead of Antigua and Barbuda’s Kalique St Jean, who was second in 35 minutes 05 seconds. Third was Anguilla’s Justin Hodge in 35.09 seconds.
The 10k race took place from Rodney Bay to the Castries waterfront.
Participation also came from Dominica, Suriname and host St Lucia.
