SVGVA welcomes return of former national player

The St Vincent and the Grenadines Volleyball Association has welcomed Marlon Williams, who will be completing his work placement with the Association as part of the requirements of the Sport Management advanced diploma programme from Humber College, in Toronto. Williams is the co-founder of the Alliance Volleyball Club and a former national player, who has since migrated to Canada. The work placement will be for three months from May 20 – August 21, 2019.

During assignment, Williams will:

  • Assist with the Association’s budgeting and accounting;
  • Assist with developing a marketing strategy for volleyball in St Vincent and the Grenadines
  • Assist with the preparation of the senior male national team, which will be competing in the NORCECA Continental Championship to be held in September 2019 and the Windward Island School Games volleyball team, which will be competing in July.
  • Work on a grassroot programme for the development of volleyball in St Vincent and the Grenadines

Williams is already immersed in his work and will host a grassroot programme as part of the coaching caravan on Saturday, June 1, at the Dickson Methodist School Hard Court from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

This will be followed by the second leg of the Volleyball Island Tour at 2 p.m. Persons with interest in volleyball or who want to learn about this exciting sport, are invited to be part of the coaching caravan or to see our clubs compete for the top position in the Island Tour.
