Mc Dowall, Ashton win 10k road race in St Lucia

Vincentians Linda Mc Dowall and Junior Ashton, were both in winners’ row at last Wednesday’s Dennery Waterfall 10k road race in St Lucia.

Mc Dowall retained the women’s segment, with a winning time of 47 minutes 11.17 seconds, while Ashton clocked 37 minutes 03.21 seconds, to take the men’s bracket.

St Lucians Benatra Charlery and Blossom Gonzague were second and third respectively to Mc Dowall.

Another pair of St Lucians also trailed Ashton to the finish line. Second was Winsbert Sylvester and third was Neville Dupre.

Apart from the men’s and women’s categories there was an Under-18 male and an Under-18 female segment.

Both Mc Dowall and Ashton are expected to return to St Lucia in July as St Vincent and the Grenadines’ representatives in the Caricom 10k.
