Marriaqua softball cricket competition keeps moving
The FLOW Carib Beer Marriaqua softball cricket competition continued last weekend at the Richland Park Oval.
Saturday’s fixtures resulted in triumphs for Nice Radio Clinchers and Country Meet Town Outa Trouble Two.
Clinchers defused Gomea Bombers at 94 runs.
Desron Spring slammed 77, to lead Clinchers to 185 for 9 from their 20 overs.
Bowling for Gomea Bombers, Omar Woods had 2 for 3.
In response, Gomea Bombers were dismissed for 91 in 13.3 overs. Romano Pierre scalped 4 for 14.
Then, Outa Trouble Two on a faster scoring rate from Downstreet Rivals Two, in a rain affected match.
Then on Sunday, joining the victory parade were Country Meet Town Outa Trouble One, Gairy’s Construction Simple Boyz and Israel Bruce Law Chambers Smashers.
Outa Trouble One saw off Adventist Youths by eight wickets.
Batting first, Adventist Youths made 56 all out from 19 overs, as Davian Barnum grabbed 4 for 4.
Barnum’s 17 was Outa Trouble one’s topscore, as his team replied with 60 for 2 in 14.3 overs.
In Sunday’s second match, it was easy work for Gairy’s Construction Simple Boyz, who won by default over Bank of SVG All Stars.
And, in the weekend’s final match, Smashers overcame TK Auto Body and Paint Garage Challengers by 12 runs.
Smashers posted 134 all out in 18.2 overs. Challengers’ response stopped at 122 from 17.3 overs.
