Prince, Soleyn, lead masters’ football awards
Former national midfielder Tyrone “Tiba” Prince, received the Golden Boots award last Thursday night at the Victoria Park, as the 2019 National Lotteries Authority SVG Over- 35s masters football competition concluded.
Prince, who represented SESCO, ended with nine goals. He entered last Thursday’s third play-off versus Layou on five goals, but registered four in his team’s 8-0 win.
Prince therefore nipped South Leeward’s Javid Gibson, who was in the lead with seven goals.
Meanwhile, Rohan Soleyn of Third World Man Shop/ National Properties Richmond Hill was adjudged the best goalkeeper.
The two were the highlight awardees during the brief ceremony.
Also rewarded were the Most Valuable Player of the teams.
Receiving the award for title holders Sion Hill was Wayne Matthews, with Alister Browne, the recipient for Richmond Hill.
Among the other awardees were Mark Hamlett – Barrouallie, Clinton Williams – Vintage Gold; Osmond Dennie – SESCO, Ishama Mc Cree – Calliaqua and Raffique Barbour – Largo Height.
Completing the list were Patrick Osboune – Bequia, Cordel John – Royal Rootz, Lance Douglas – Layou, Javid Gibson – South Leeward; Kimron Baptiste – Greiggs and Alister Glasgow – COMPUTEC Vincy Masters.
